Re: Grossdeutschland '42-'43

The only reference I've found is that GD were issued camo smocks for the Kusrk offensive. it's the only specific reference I've found on the subject.
That's my two pfennigs worth. :)

Re: ESCAPING THE ALLIES

You mean 'Other Losses', that caused a stir when it came out. Eisenhower doesn't come out of it very well. His redefinition of Prisoner of War to Defeated Enemy Forces so the US Army could evade its responsibility under the Geneva Convention to house, feed and care for capture or surrendered German ...

Re: Blank K98 ammo

We've had a number of problems with resized 7.62 blanks for our Mausers. So much so we don't use them.
Buy a 7.92 K98, that is the correct calibre. The landser used nothing else!

Re: WH Beute 1939 Buick

Nice motor, although it has been said that the Wehrmacht's motorised divisions drive into Russia looked like a used car dealer's forecourt in motion.
The logistical problems were a nightmare.

Re: Tiger 1 damage photos

Most Allied evaluations of the Tiger were done on capured examples and carried out without concerns for maintenance or access to spare parts. The Tiger I needed a lot of maintenance to remain in action as did the Tiger II. In experienced hands they were a formidable opponent, just ask anyone who cam...

Re: German Home Front - Does it look right?

Helmut - when you say "scratch units" - are you referring to such as KG Tettau and suchlike? It is known that Kampfgruppe Tettau consisted of Kriegsmarine, Luftwaffe, Heer AND Waffen-SS soldiers - some convalescing in the area and others employed on guard duties etc. We know that 9 and 10...

Re: German Home Front - Does it look right?
