Re: The reason for the anti-Waffen-SS disclaimer

Hi, On the Swiss reenaktor parlaris forum I asked him on what he deleted, but one way or another he did not understand my question. Now that topic has turned sour and they are having a go at Frank Hoover again. Nothing new there. And repeated again on that forum in regards to their disclaimer: ALL Q...

Re: Fahrbefehle etc...

I do repros of an A6 sized singlesided Fahrbefehl, but do not know for how long this was in use. The original was dated pre-war (1938?) and the text include: Kraftfahrzeug ... WH... Fuhrer... Begleiter.... melden sich am... um... Uhr...min in (Ort).... Strasse.... bei... zur Fahrt nach..... die Fahr...

Re: Das Kleine Wunder!

What's wrong with Peckham? I moved in after the riots and never been mugged whilst I lived there between 1987-1989. I must admit I lived away from the North Peckham estate, but crossed that every day on my Germaan pushbike on my way to work. Rob PS for some German two wheelers, see: http://www.defab...

Re: Rommel For Sale

BSA allready advertised in 1943 after the British victory in Africa: Ausgerommelt on one of their Motorcycle or Motorcycling cover ads, showing german POW's being herded by CMP on BSA's.

Rob.
Rommelmarkt is not just Flemish, it is a Dutch word, as listed in het groene boekje.

Sorry for slightly going of topic. After watching the US paid movie A bridge too far, a Royal Engineer Arnhem veteran friend commented: nice film, but where was this?

Discussions can be good for making up one's opinion, that is why I sometimes have the urge to get involved. And have shit thrown at me, sometomes childish behaviour, and intrusions of forum etiquette (changing one's posting without having an 'edited' notice at the bottom), and sometimes even exposin...

hence why they used gliders in Belgium in 41.
I know that some Holanderts think Belgians/Flemish a bit back ward, but wasn't Eben-Emael not in May 1940: gliders entering Belgian airspace prior to a declaration of war etc?

Steve McQueen uses a 'modern' sixties Triumph unit motorcycle (5TA or even Tiger 100), but that has nothing to do with war tme practice. I just wanted to share this picture (sent to me by Henk Joore of the worldfamous BSA WM20 site), as the Triumph 3SW was quite rare in the early stages of the war, ...

A bit of an anachronism here: we were doing Great War, even had some 1918 (british propaganda) flyers with us that supposedly were dropped over Bremen (?) with some 150 sunk U-bots and the fate of the skipper on it. But yes for WW2 cap tallies were usually changed into HMS. HMS Royal Arthur was a pr...
