Re: Military Harbor Windjacke Review

I've written a detailed list of suggested changes to improve the Windjacke to Military Harbor. Seller citing issues with the factory and changes would be forthcoming. I suggested a fabric similar to that used on wind/water resistant trenchcoats such as London Fog, etc. Seller is asking for a sample ...

Re: WHO MAKES A GOOD REPRO WINDJACKE?

The Lomax.de windjacke has been on ebay for a while. I think it's a 15- or 30-day auction. Aside from the color, it looks pretty good. I just don't know enough about these jackets to tell if it's truly an original or just a better-made copy. Price-wise, it's just a bit more than the LB repros were s...

Re: Military Harbor Windjacke Review

I don't own one of the Hiki jackets. From the photos, it appears to be the same as the others. It appears to have the second set of wrist buttons but I would expect these are made from the same loosely woven cloth as the others. Perhaps someone else here has already purchased one?

Re: Military Harbor Windjacke Review

One of the other threads discussed the smallish pockets on the Spearhead version of the Windjacke. Here are some basic measurements from the Military Harbor version. Lower pockets: 17.5 cm wide across the top of the pocket flap 18.5 cm wide at the bottom of the pocket 21 cm from the top of the pocke...

Re: WHO MAKES A GOOD REPRO WINDJACKE?

Bergheil kamerad! If you closely look Military Harbor's and Spearhead's windjacket you will notice difference in several details. Military Harbor and Spearhead are two different shops with own different production. (Military Harbor is shop from Shanghai - China, Spearhead Militaria is from Singapor...

Re: WHO MAKES A GOOD REPRO WINDJACKE?

The lack of the wrist adjustment buttons on the Spearhead jacket would suggest they are sharing the same pattern as the Military Harbor version. From the photos, I would guess the Mil Harbor jacket is the 'khaki' color. At $20 less expensive, perhaps Military Harbor is a direct seller for the factor...

Re: Military Harbor Windjacke Review

Ordering Process: My order was processed the very day the vendor said he would be back from holiday. I received an e-mail informing me the jacket was sent and a tracking number and web-link provided. My tracking information was available online within 24 hours. The jacket reached my house ten days l...

Here is my GJ Windjacke from Spearhead Militaria.
Hi,
Does your jacket have the second set of buttons for adjusting the wrist opening? The buttons are different from the Military Harbor jacket but they appear to share the same basic pattern.

A few photos. Yes, the flourescent appearance of the waffenfarbe on the shoulderboards is really that bright! Military Harbor Windjacke Review

I ordered my jacket via eBay on Feb 5 and received notification that the jacket was shipped on Feb 6. A tracking number was provided. The jacket arrived at my house on Feb 15. Initial Impression: Cheap price = cheap garment The jacket is very lightweight. The fabric is a decent greyish-green color b...

Re: Steinnuß Buttons

The 1/2-inch buttons will be smaller than the ones I used. They appear very similar but, as noted, they will be similar in size to the pebbled buttons used on the M-43 cap rather than the slightly larger type used on the Bergmütze. A very minor difference -- ~13mm vs 15mm. Technically, the are size ...

Re: Windjacke origins?

I believe it to be of a fashionable cut of the time period. I have a late 1930's Swiss Gebirgsgrenadier tunic and its cut in a very similar cut as the German Windjacke. The major difference is the Swiss version is made entirely from wool and has no hand warming pockets. This photo cited as being Re...

I believe Bill Bureau is the US distributor for Janke-made items. I'm pretty sure they offer Polizei uniforms.

Re: Windjacke origins?

Updated the image to show the sweater and other items on the page. Also adding this photo from the book showing the Bundesheer Windjacke in use.

I need to research further. Possibly this style of jacket was in use in WW1?

Windjacke origins?

Part of my gebirgsjäger collection includes Austrian items -- Kaiserjäger thru today. In looking through some photos in one of my reference books (Die Uniformen de österreichischen Bundesherres 1918-1938, by Urrisk) and noticed very similar versions of the Windjacke and Windhosen in use by the Bunde...
