Hello all,
I just wanted to introduce myself and send warm greetings from the Southern U.S..
I attended my first, and so far only, WWII reenactment in 2003 where I did 101st Airborne, but my reenacting interests have always been focused on the fighting units of the Third Reich. Between college, law school, and work I just haven't had the time or money to pursue my hobby of WWII German reenacting.
My primary areas of study are the German internal security and intelligence forces that operated in Southern and Eastern Europe. When the planets align and I'm ready to really get into this hobby, I plan on forming my specific impression. Until then, I just plan on surveying the terrain to get as much info as I can.
The specialities I'm interested in are: Infantry/Panzergrenadier, Artillery/Flak, and Feldgendarmerie.
The units I'm interested in are: 3rd Waffen-SS Totenkopf, 7th Waffen-SS Prinz Eugen, 33rd Waffen-SS Charlemagne, 36th Waffen-SS Dirlewanger, Heer Jager Infantry, and SD.
Of course, none of these groups are currently represented in the U.S. reenacting community. So it looks like I'll be riding solo at events.
Sincerely,
~Patton
