Guten Tag from Mississippi, USA

Post by FschJg_Heilmann »

Hey guys, I am just not getting into reenacting and very passionate about Military history and German History. I started gaining an interest in reenacting when I found out (through genealogy) that I am a relative of Majorgeneral Ludwig Heilmann. I only have a M43 tunic and looking to go from there but a little confused as to where to go from there. Thank you for reading! Tschuss!

Was the M43 used by the Fallschirmjager Reg. 3?

If you are portraying Fallschirmjager, you need basic kit:
M38 Springerhelm (Partatrooper helmet)
Fliegerbluse (wool flying jacket)
Knockensak (Jump smock)
Springerhosen (Wool jump trousers)
Side lace boots(early war) or front lace boots (late war)
Belt and Luftwaffe buckle.

I'd recommend you get a copy of Soldat volume 8 Fallschirmjager by Chris Mason http://www.amazon.com/Soldat-Vol-Collec ... B000H7NC88
a good book to get started with reenacting Fallschirmjager.

All weapons were standard issue, the "gravity knife" is the exception. Issued to Luftwaffe aircrew for cutting themselves out their parachute if it was entangled.
