DRK Nurse

Post by missyd »

I am actually working on my new uniform. Its for a DRK nurse in the Afrikakorps.
For this I need the enamelled badge that was worn on the collar of blouse.

I also need some first aid goodies and some sort of Bag to carry it.
Any recommendations where I can buy it?
I have seen first aid goods in the SOF catalogue. Are they any good?

militaria.net or sof have the brooch that is worn at the blouse,

the bag, take a look at the pic,
the leather bags are often seen on ebay, but failing that try a bread bag with strap

original dressings can be expensive and easily damaged if carrying them about, try re-wrap some modern ones with repro period labels

the pic is me and micky from a couple of years back

Thanks for your info. SOF does not have the brooch anymore.

Try Below
There are several supplies of these bags around so just a matter of finding the color you want

For DAK I would say this one. I actually have 2 of these on order as well from another supplier

I'm curious about the DRK stamp: how would they manage the two different ink colours, to get the cross red and everything else black?

"In Trenches" told me that he would have to make two stamps to do the DRK image.

Don't know for sure but I guess that was also the way it was stamped in that time period.

I'm using a transparent .gif graphic taken off period documents for my stamps.

~ Any help/thoughts on this~ ?

I assume thats a DRK logo someone has added via computer. not an actual ink pad stamp
