Rather interesting 10 wat sender C,

Post by svdwal »

Hi all,

Today i finally recieved my new 10 watt sender C.
But i discoverd something curious about it.

In stead of the frequency scale going form 27.2Mhz to 33.4Mhz, this one has an complete other scale.
In black it goes from 40.0Mhz to 55,0Mhz and underneath in red it goes from16.0Mhz to 22.0Mhz.

The scale looks to be written in pen, the red even more than the black.

Can this be some wartime of maybe post war modification?
I couldnt find anything in the books or on the Internet.

Who could help me out on this one?

Thanks allready,

It's a post war modification for, I think the Danish civil defence - I'll double check this.

Thanks Dave,

If it is a modification, is there an easy way in converting it back to origional?

Thanks so far,

It would need recalibrating for use.

I would suggest taking it apart and removing the scale ring as it is known or the reverse side to have a transfer applied. The original German scale could be on what is now the back. Failing that, I may have a spare in the loft (I think I have one for the 10WS c variant).

Thanks Dave,

I'm lucky enough to have a second 10 watt sender which i will use for spares.
So i've got a good scale plate to use.

I've powered the 10 watt sender up today after some basic cleaning and connection checking.
And to my surprise it seems to function, i was only able to try the morse key but it gave a disturbance in the frequency which i could hear with my SEM35.

Now i know that it functions it needs to be re calibrated, is this an easy job to be done?
This is something which is new to me.

Thanks so far,

Hi all,

Last weekend i did some more work on the 10 watt sender.
My semi original umformer is functioning fine, this one has the original dynamotor but all the other parts are new build.
I replaced the scale lighting and replaced the tubes.

See the picture:

To my luck i've found someone who is very familiar with this set and will help me to transfer it back to the original frequencies.

So i've got myself one working set :-)

Now i will need some extra parts to make it complete.
I need the following:
-Cable to umformer
-Cable between transmitter and reciever Ant.Empf. G
-Cable between transmitter and reciever z. empf.
-New ampere meter.

Who can help me on these?

Thanks already,
