Help needed with finding Radio!

Post by GR916/15/14 »

Hallo,

Maybe 'Feldjager' can help here?

I am getting together a Zeltbahn tent etc I am looking into getting music for the display, I have no know-how in this so I need alot of help!
Can a Torn Eb play a civilian music broadcast? Now or back in 1944? How much would an original and Working Torn Eb set me back now days?

Is there another means of playing music in you display without an MP3 player and speaker in a box?

I am looking for the 'normal' radio broadcast (No Lili Marleen or Marching songs!)

All the best,
Nathan

Wouldn't a regular civilian thirties/forthies radio be much more authentic and cheaper?

Torn Eb will set you back around £450 for the set. Battery box with lid another £500, then cables and other accessories another £3-350. Basically you'd need around £1300 to get a complete set up. You can find them a little cheaper sometimes. It may still work - the valves are readily available as NOS on eBay and from amateur radio dealers.

If you want a radio for the field for entertainment, look at a volksempfänger - small bakelite set which has room inside to hid a CD/MP3 player. Commonly used in the field and could be run from a vehicle battery or 90V dry cell.

Hi,

I've got a Torn Eb for sale at this moment.
Radio is not in working condition, i do not have any idea how the internals are i've never tested it nor opened it.
It just stands in a display.

Some knobs and text shields are missing.
The connector is incorrect, abstimm knob is replaced by an correct one. (this is an old picture).

headphones are not a part of this sale.

I'm asking F.200,00 for this one excl. postage.

I think this is perfect to use for your plans.
