Thats an interesting request - I have ten F33s and I have never seen one which has any other kind of plate not least a Nato one though you do find the odd one which has the right hand plate missing. The only variant plate on a pure F33 I have ever seen the the Yellow stripe on the Kriegsmarine version, I can say that there is no one who makes them. I am not sure if you mean the plate inside the lid or the one on the outside, either way I have some gash cases and can liberate a plate for you if you whish.

That's quite interesting Sturmschar, my field telephone
has a green stripe on the white plate whats that mean ?
The phone itself is dated 1943 while the handset is
dated 1939
Cheers, regards Pipes ;-)

Hello Pipes happy new year to you, the green stripe identifies it as a bog standard F33, Yellow denotes Kriegsmarine which has a special socket on the opposite end to the bell crank for the special mike and head set used by the navy and red denotes signals variants equiped for morse keys.

Hello all,

I have just purchased one of said phones and have a couple of questions if I may, does anybody know were you can get a carrying strap from and what size batteries are used to power the unit?

Kind regards,

Ged

Ged the system was designed to run on a 1.5v battery however I use the small 9v PP3 battery which gives excellent performance, there are loads of carrying straps on fleabay http://www.ebay.de/itm/Feldtelefon-Trag ... 3f382ce23e is probably original but there are a lot of repro webbing ones at around 30E.
