Signal units and staff tents

Post by olivierpatrick »

Hi everyone,

I need to know if Signal units (Funktruppen and Fernmeldetruppen) could mount a station in a Staff tent ? Could be historically correct ?

Help will be greatly apreciated !

Thank you very much.

Best regards

Grüß Di' Olivierpatrick,

Signals units, as well as other units, used a wide variety of tents.

Here are was wartime photos of the 'Grosse Nachrichtenzelt' (Large Signals Tent) which is similar to the Staff Tent but with higher walls and more windows:

Here are some pictures of my Nachrichtenzug's setup with a Staff Tent:

If you're interested in learning more about German Army Tents, I would recommend the following book:

"Zelte und Zeltersatzausrüstungen der Wehrmacht, 1939-1945" by Hinrichsen

You can find it on eBay Germany or Amazon.
