I juts found myself here and decided to register, I'm active on the axis history forums and a few others, I'm part of the USA group 7th GD and radios and comms are my passion.

and to kick off heres a photo of our new Helferin at a recent public event.
(all original and working equiptment) the transmitters are fitted with GMRS for complete net comms with the stab and units in the field

we have 2 orginal Feldfunkgerät radios for display and 4 that have been converted to with GMRS (throat mics and proper ptt switches), 20 line phone exchange and loads of other kit.. Ill post more pics as i get around to it

Hi there welcome to the forum. That's a nice set up you have there. I'd like to see more pictures of your set up and equipment.

Below is our comms set up - we don't have a dedicated signals section, we all get to take turns listening to static! The set is up a Torn Fu d.2, 10 line exchange and Engima (repro... for the moment

). We will have some more bits coming along - an Fu22 SE20 arrangement and an Fu 10 SE 30(TE) arrangement. One of our members has a WR1/P under restoration. For power we use either a DKW S Kl M 100 or Kl M S 100 generator (they also run the lights, more importantly!!!!).

(ignore the gleichrichter unit - it just got dumped there)

I have seen those photos before and boy did i drool!!.. I love the enigma!!..I will take some more photos of the kit.. in the meantime here is another pic,, same scene but in color different pose.

What is in the box under neath the Torn Eb, and where did you get the anglepoise lamp? I've been trying to locate something suitable for a while, but nothing has shown up!!!

Looks like a nice 'period' building as well.

the box under the torn contains a 12 volt car battery with an inverter to provide 110/240 volts to power the main RX unit or at least the amp, we feed the audio from one of the backpacks throu this radio to get that nice period sound. The box also powers the hidden chargers for the portable radios. Not shown is the nice speakers cardboard external speakers, the RDF unit, external antennas and some other odds and sods ...

the lamp came from an auction for $2.00

we are trying to locate a genny over here but so far had no luck hence the battery, this is a small amount of kit, Ill unpack more and take some more photos in the next few days

There was a run on the generators on eBay about a month ago - they seemed to go for around the £200-250 mark (about US$400-500 I think). All originated from Germany or Austria.

My generator is configured for either a 12V at 3A or 1000V at 0.3A (the latter is for either the 100W sender or X-ray equipment). I use an inverter to give 240V output for lights etc. The other generator has a post war distribution panel and does 12V, 90V, 110V and 220V - it was being usede until about 10 years ago in a carpenters workshop.

She was an experiment that turned out well

, that was the first event we had with a female that wasnt part of the hospital gruppe. I asked the unit commander to try an new display for the public and it worked out really well..

Lots of questions, lots of photos, older quys asking about the equiptment (I made sure she knew it all before hand). I'm really proud of the dedication she put into it, her uniform was hand made from photos with a local seamstress, the cap was the only item bought ready made, Her paperwork is correct, she carries a death card of her husband who was killed in 1939 in poland for her impression..

the kid did good !lol..

Craig is very complimentary here

but I have a lot of work to do yet. I am constantly trying to get better at my impression and I look forward to being part of this forum. Thank you Craig and thanks to everyone for the nice comments.
