Was this type of radio used in the Sdkfz 251/1 veichles?

What would a one in good condition be worth? (i don't know about the internals)

It is a Ukw.E set, but the variant depends on the vehicle (e.g. the Ukw.E.dl was used with a 20 W.S.d in the Sd Kfz 251/3).

At the moment they are fetching around £350-500 depending on condition. If they have the front cover, then they tend towards the £500 mark.

Are there any of the radios that would have a much lower price? (just need to be sure i dont get a cheapo one :))

It would not be wrong to use "any" reciver in a Sdkfz251/1?

Thats the botom ebd of the price range for German radio sets! The sets for armoured vehicles seem to be in abundance at the moment. There is also a load of Torn Ebs on the market, and the price has fallen a little.

You need to use the right receiver in the vehicle as the frequency ranges were specifically allocated for certain tasks as it enabled the crew to communicate with other groups (e.g. infantry, artillery etc.). If you are setting the vehicle up as a communications vehicle, then other sets could be possible in addition to the normally allocated receiver.

Yes thats the one.
I also got an Eb and an FuD2 (you may have seen them on our display).
With a bit of work they come out quite smart.

They look good when they are painted up. I've found making the metal cases with the various fittings is a pain in the backside!

Pretty time consuming.
Mine are all welded (handy when you have a welding set!)
