Anyone out there own a volksemfanger in working condition? I have noticed a few on eBay recently and they look quite nice. I'm talking about the little square bakelite ones with the reichsadler on the front. I have an empty casing that I may do up as a dummy with an MP3 player inside, but I would really like a working one as I have a couple of working, all original Aussie radios from the 30's and 40's.

Re: Volksemfanger
I'd love to have one, but haven't managed to find one for a halfway reasonable price. I've thought of doing the same thing if I could ever find a "shell".

I have one somewhere made by Lorenz (I think) but I am unsure if it works. But I am quite sure it does as it is primitive.

I have one of the larger 301 type.
Works well. Picks up the BBC fine with a long ariel wire.
However it is a bit quiet and if you turn up the volume too high you just get distortion.

Here's my DKE 38. Shell only with new guts. Works a treat. I've since replaced the speaker cloth though!
