Hi lee G , your best bet is to contact "Feldjager" , he is the ace when it comes to radio equipment .

*whooooosh*

Hello.

They came with a variety of configurations. I've just crawled in the house, so I'll have a good look later and pull out the details for you.

The most common set was the Torn Fu b1 or c, or the Fu d2. You do occasionally see the Feld fu g but this was a very specific allocation. Prewar the E445Bs was sometimes used, but this seems to have been phased out just before the start of the war. Somewhere I have the manuals for the installation and loading of the Kfz2 on either the VW "Kübelwagen" or Stöwer vehicles. A long term project of mine is to use the MB 170VK basis for a reproduction on a similar vehicle chassis - I should be starting this in Winter 2009 if things go to plan.

The radios are out there and they come up for sale surprisingly frequently at the moment. Prices are high, however (Torn Fu b1 or c - around £550 for the radio, battery box £350+ and then another £200 for the various accessories. Basically think around £1000-1200 and you'll be around the right area. Fu d2 set with battery box, £3000+ and the Feld fu g is probably around £2500 but they are harder o find).

Phones - sounds like either the dynamo in the ringing phone isn't working or the ringer in the broken phone is, well, broken. They come apart easily - try taking the innards out and using either a low PSI on a compressor or a can of compressed air to blast some of the crap out. For batteries, I use a normal 9V type with the adapter connected directly to the phones.
