1. Its the box and cover plus the partitions inside. There was a wire in it when I got it, but the rubber insulation had decomposed to powder along its entire length so I binned it. I also forgot to mention the locking lugs on the side for the Torn Eb set are also OK.

2. No vibrator unit I'm afraid (I assume you mean the EW.b unit) - I did have one but sold it a while back. They were normally only used when the set was connected to a mains supply (<90V) and a Gleichrichter unit was not available. They are usually seen in the back of Kfz.17 vehicles in the Fu9, Fu10, Fu11 Fu12, Fu14(Ez) or Fu24 configurations (there is another one as well - I think its Fu25 from memory) where the sets were connected directly to batteries or a 90V signals generator.

3. Colour is RAL6006 throughout (suggesting midwar manufacture). There is only red primer underneath.

4. I did have an operators manual, but again sold it along with the EW.b

The guy in the US is still interested, and is working out how to get the money to me, without using PayPal. I have told him if I don't have it by 2359BST on Sunday, I'll offer it elsewhere (here!!).

At the moment we're working on an E445b and 5W sender configuration as our Fu d2 set is a bit low powered for a semi-fixed emplacement!

Update - the guy in the US has contacted me and said he'll send a Western Union payment tomorrow (I've heard this before). I've told him its his last chance, so it may still be up for grabs at the end of the week.

I've also decided to sell my Torn Fu g backpack set as well.

Cheers

Dave

I bought most of them between 8 and 10 years ago when prices were sensible (like below £1000 for most sets). What are you after? I have some sets for sale still.

Well, not being experts in the radio area,we're buying one of these repro German command tents from the US,and one of the repro troops tents too,we have two field radios, but want something else for the command tent,we're not sure on the type of radio they would have had in the command tent, but we want to kit it out, would you have anything suitable Feldjager?
cheers

That's a multifarious question, and the answer will depend on the level of command you are talking about! It would also depend on whether you are a motorised unit or not.

If you are motorised and talking about anything above company level, then you are looking a having a dedicated signals vehicle, due to the amount of sets that could be used and the sheer weight of them (not to mention batteries, generatir, spares etc.). If you are motorised infantry, then you could well have been equipped with a 250 vehicle (I'd suggest looking at the relevant Kriegsstärkenachweisung chart, as this will tell you what vehicles you would have had in theory).

You would also need to look at the operation frequencies of your existing radios (I'm assuming you have Torn Eb or similar sets?), and find higher level sets that work within those frequency ranges - e.g. the sets for air to ground comms are a higher wavelength than those for ground to ground, but even then there are substantial differences. Not everyone could talk to everyone!

Let me know what you have and what level you want to represent, and I'll see what I come up with. Also are you motorised or not? I have some sets which could be suitable, but they are not cheap!

You will be looking at getting a designated Fu equipment set (usually comprising a receiver, transmitter, dynamotor/power source) rather than an individual radio.

I've sent a PM about those tents
