Does that gear work?

I have a ham radio license but not used it for a few years now.

I'll have a word with our radio man Mick, he's not on the forum yet. From what he says it should work. It's only a receiving unit. I'll speak to him and get him onto the forum. Perhaps you two could exchange ideas.

Interesting.

If any of the transmitting gear is still available - and it's on the right frequency (or convertable) - it might be usable under certain circumstances :lol:

'Twould be a right lark to run a special event station one day, maybe even talk to Germany... :shock:

I have an original Torn Eb battery box and lid I'd be willing to part with if anyone is interested - qa guy in the US has said he'll have it, but I've not heard anything for about 3 weeks. Assuming he doesn't come back to me, let me know if you are interested.

Its got original paint plus the markings on the lid are still legible. Catches are all fine, and the compartments inside are in good condition (though the battery compartment is a bit rusty - it looks like there has been a leak at some point from a wet cell battery) and the flap for the cables is still in fgood usable condition, though the spring could do with replacing. Lid also has the insert for the operators manual.

Given the condition etc., I'm looking for about £550. I have emailed the chap in the US and told him if I haven't heard from him by 0800BST on Monday, then I'll sell it elsewhere.

Torn eb

Post by Herr Keller »

Hello Dave, I've just joined in. This battery box for the torn eb;
1/ Is it just a box with cover, or does it have the cable/plugs?
2/ Do you have the vibrator unit for it?
3/ What clour is it? ( This helps to determine the period of manufacture )
4/ Do you have the operators manual?
