Military antique shops / flea markets in Paris?

Post by Sturmannlee »

Dear list,

I am from Singapore, and will be going to France (in particular Paris) for my honeymoon in the first week of december.

As such, is there any input of any good military antique shops in Paris itself? I would like the shop name, actual addresses and recommendations please.

In addition, are there any good flea markets too?

I am looking for WW1 - WW2 German militaria in general.

Thanks!

I would suggest your first stop be one of the many news stands that are on most street corners. Pick up a copy of Armes Militaria, this has listings that include shops and militaria fairs around France, and thus Paris. http://militaria.histoireetcollections.com/en/
Perhaps one of our europe based members can have a look in their current copy and see whats coming up for you?
You should get one anyway as they are a great publication, full of top quality pictures of kit.
If you find yourself near the Place de la Republique there is a book shop you should visit. A&C is on 19 Avenue de la Republique and has lots, lots of books and back issues to keep you parted from your cash. Dont forget to explore the back of the shop. I'm sure the future Mrs.Sturmannlee would enjoy a ride on the large carousel that often graces the place.
This link has details of model shops, I've not found anything similar for militaria http://battleshiprow.tripod.com/HSISP/Paris.htm
This thread has some ideas but is aimed towards US kit

Dear friends who replied.

Sorry for my own late reply, as I was coping with university studies, a cranky computer and my actual customary wedding on 29 Nov 2008. :D

As such, I am free to use the Internet again! Ok, I will heed your advice and yes, I am sure I will get to do some shopping while my wife shops for Louis Vuitton stuff.

Regards from Singapore!
