Type 97 Grenade assembly...

Post by Sturmannlee »

Hello List.

I am new here but I am a good pal of Tanaka aka Ryan. Thanks for the invite mate!

I am from Singapore and do Heer, Waffen SS and IJA living history.

I recently bought a 1:1 scale plastic model kit of the German M39 and Japanese Type 97 grenades and have assembled them...you can view the process here.

http://www.geocities.com/alvinlee_81/ModelGrenades.html

They have been painted and clay was added for weight...it feels heavy! =-p

Originals are expensive and quite a no-no to import into Singapore so we are making do wth these.

Ryan,

I see that you are way excited to obtain the grenades and to start a little arsenal of your own. :D

I am quite sure the ebayer is hobby airsoft? They ship from Hong Kong.

Well, Pls use my pictures as reference...I highly recommend using Tamiya Spray Paint Semi Gloss Black to spray both grenade bodies. he untimate result is smoooooth and shiny bodies....

Do use clay with no oil content and dries easily to become hard. Caution...these will shrink when dried... Do not waste time to touch them up like I did...the clay will just shrink again. Instead, super glue them into the grenade body so that it stays there!

I look forward to see yours on the list soon!

Hi Ryan,

Well, If I had known that you did not want the German ones...I would have bought them from you! Haha. :(

To Baggypants... the ebay seller is: http://stores.ebay.com/eHobby-Asia-Airsoft-Supplier

Do note that he may not have them grenades all the time...

Ryan, did you managed to email the same ebay seller about the airsoft P38?

Thanks

Thanks to the Dutch goverment

You can only have deact originals with specific license which is hard to come by.

plus a de-act original your looking at about £200 upwards if you can get a decent one.

you'll have to stick to collecting safe 15in bayonets instead of dangerous plastic kits

I still find it b...chip these laws because any individual with a bad sense of humor can always find a way to purchase a firearm.

The reason to forbid these grenades and toyguns is that they can be used to threaten :?

a "real" knife can do both but maybe a stupid thing to say overhere because for you know someone reads this and wants to change the law?

Btw. wasn't there a new law coming up against airsoft guns and deacts in GB?
