Any input will be appreciated.

Post by kev308 »

Hello, I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but, attached is one of the only photos we have of my father in law. He's the tall fellow in the center. He passed long before I had a chance to really ask about his service. I do know he finshed the war in an allied POW camp in Italy.
Can anyone tell me anything about the photo? I'm thinking early thirties? SA uniforms?
Thanks for all help, Kevin

I think it's a late 20th century fake staged photo.

Thanks for that insight John, I can assure you this photo is for real. Granted it's a lousy cell phone copy, but quite real.

To be honest I would need a larger size photo to see the early SS uniform was all most the same as the SA

They appear to wear breast emblems above their shirt pockets,I'm thinking they could be NSFK (national socialiste flieger korps)John

Hi Joel, they are vari-focal  I pinched this shirt pic from WAF and the cap from Dress and field service hat of the third reich by Tom Shutt.

Although a bigger version of the original pic posted would be a help, from what I can see none of them are wearing the NSFK flyers knife which would of confirmed it.

Ok, I cropped and tried to correct the tint. The photo has yellowed quite a biit over the years. I also included a copy of the original so the experts can see it's a real picture and not a staged fake.

Well I'm far from an expert on photos, however, scanning a yellow coloured cropped edge photo doesn't make it any more authentic.
