Over the years I have been doing research about my grandfather's military service. Through the help of WASt and ICRC I was able to find some great info:
He was conscripted in September of 1940
Erkennungsmarke - 330 - 3./Flak Ers.Abt. 26
Flak School in Barth, Germany.
Captured near the West Wall March 28, 1945 with Flak-Regiment 59
Rank at time of capture - Obergefreiter
Released from POW June 18, 1946
I have searched for anything possible about his unit. I do know from family history that he was stationed in Paris, France with an anti-aircraft unit. I researched Michael Holm's website and even sent him an email concerning Flak Ersatz Abteilung 26. He cannot find any records for this unit. I am trying to find out what kind of crew he may have been with, ie; Light, Mixed or Heavy gun crew. There were so many units associated with Flak-Regiment 59.
If anyone can provide additional info or point me in a direction for further research it would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Stephan
Opa was born in 1906, so he would have been 34 at the time of his conscription.
