You are right SVB288 ,it was the early style Stug with the short gun barrel .This model was used for artillery as this is what the Stug was originally built for , mobile artillery . I will see if I have anymore material on this unit especially the men who served in this rare unit .

Even Herr Bond would have a tough time getting through the Australian lines. We don't muck around, you know! Just ask Seebohm's intel section at Tel el Eisa. Aussies mauled the beezeesus out of those boys too...They and 288 were very closely linked. I'll do more research on the link as it is very applicable to SvB288. We're getting into the realm of the spooks here Gentlemen!

Do you have a detailed OOB of Sonderverband 288?


What about other Sonderverbands such as Sonderverband 287 made up mostly of Arabs?


How involved were the Brandenburg units in forming Sondderverband units?
