Anyone know of any info on the 169th and the time in Finland until the end of the war? Any books, pics, stuff? Maybe artillery?

Greatly appreciated.

My granddad was in this unit. Have recently been to Halbe, where they got churned up. Very impressive place.

Hi,

My grand uncle served in the 169 ID, 378 regiment, 8th Kompanie and was being captured on September 11 1944, 28 km north of Alakurtti.
He was then transported to a prisoner camp at Boksitogorsk and starved on May 7th 1945.

Do you have any further info about the 169 ID or even his regiment?

all the best
Matthias
