The PPK was not an issued weapon for the Feldgendarmerie - in 98% of cases it was the P38.

PPKs were used under 2 circumstances:
1. Officer's private purchase sidearm (normally 7.65mm)
2. Where OrPo units were absorbed wholesale into the Werhrmacht in the pre- and early war years, they came with all their weapons and uniforms; hence why you see some EM & NCOs with PPKs.

Now... on the whole OrPo units went to the Wehrmacht and not the SS. I've had a quick scout through my picture collection and for the SS photos I have, I can only identify officers as having PPKs. There are 2 where the image isn't clear enough to make an informed decision, but the holsters could be small enough.

I would say for an enlisted SS-Feldgendarm, stick with a P38.

There was only one small batch of P38's made for the police. Mauser had that order I think. They have a small police eagle on the frame. I have had one of these once upon a time. The order was far less tahn 10000 units. I think it was 3500-4500. But there are piles of police Luger holsters. And as most of them were not front line troops did they not get crappy 7.65's???

Kind regards

True for the police, but not the Feldgendarmerie. Of all the FG soldbucher I've examined, the number witn a PPK or Luger as the issued weapons was very much the minority.
