Irish Print Smock?

Post by SplinterA »

Does anyone have clear photos of one of the fabled Irish print Oak A pattern smocks?
Are there any 'tells', clues to its origin, things that set it aside from real or other copies?
Were they all sewn with the same colour thread? What was that?
Cheers

There are good pics all over the Wehrmacht-awards forum. They have been debated en nauseum.

Thanks for that, never thought about their obsession with 'fakes'.
The pics they post lead me to think that the smock I have is not an Irish one.
Who else, aside from SMWholesale was making Oak A smocks before the mid 1990s?

Krus made a load of stuff, before the 1990s and also made a load for Band of Brothers. I still have a field cap from there. I know they had loads of material made for para smocks and the SS lads.
