Handschar Music

Post by abc123 »

Comrades!

I don't know if any off you need / want any music from the Handschar division. its not military marches or anything, just their own music for dancing to, relaxing etc.

If you do want some, let me know and I will do you a copy of it and bring it to Beltring. I found an old CD of it last night whilst preparing my Beltring packing.

cheers,

I think you are referring to 'Sa Pjesmom u Boj' (Into Battle with a song), the main song of the13. Waffen-Gerbigs Division der SS'Handschar', set to the melody of 'Bombs on England'?

Just for reference, here are the lyrics of the song I mentioned.
A song is in the air, the entire earth is shaking,
Columns of SS men march in step,
SS men wave the sacred banners.
SS men do everything for the people.

Give me your hand, dear lvana,
Follow God now, Follow God now, Follow God now
I shall defend, I shall defend, I shall defend my beloved
Homeland, Homeland

SS men are heroes in battle
Show our homeland the way
Follow the road of our glorious grandfathers
Until tyranny falls, cursed and bitter

Let love burn in our hearts
And with a song let's enter battle
To liberate our beloved homeland
For which anyone would gladly sacrifice his life.

Does anyone know where I could download that song?
The only one I have its the Herzegowina march and that one's without singing.
Anyway,If someone needs translation from Croatian/Serbian to English just drop me a PM and Ill do it within a minute.

Sorry but it's not on the internet to my knowledge. Try maybe all the German Military CDs out there. There are one or 2 specifically on Wehrmacht and Waffen-SS foreign volunteers, maybe you can find it.

There are no recordings of the song being sung in Bosnian. If you're asking for traditional Bosnian music
it would be something like this

There is an interesting story of the divisional hymn being played on a loud speaker in one Bosnian village in 1943, a couple of partisans changed sides, and it was said that there were tens of volunteers.
