Cossacks anyone?

Post by Bergführer »

I've almost fallen in love with the cossack troops several weeks ago so I bought some insignia (damn expensive, made in Pakistan or sth) and my friend made a cap for me ; ) Now I must freeze it for a while because my regular GJ/SS GJ impression isn't completed in every way, but I guess that I will look for a sabre and stuff after I'll get everything that I need for a full GJ :]

Here is my photo, made today.
Anyone interested in cossacks too? ; )

Actually, you don't need a horse to reenact Cossack Plastun (foot reconnaissance, to yall).
Yep, Trident millitary has most of the goods, though they still haven't gotten in papakhas
(last I checked with them anyways).

Indeed! Nice to see that uniform, do you go to Waltham Abbey? If I get my new pants on time I'll wear my foreign volunteer unifom in Waltham Abbey. It would be nice to see more exotic German uniforms.

thx a lot ; )

It's sad but we won't meet there because I come from Poland and I still live in Poland and I even plan to stay here ( ) but don't worry, the flights are getting cheaper and cheaper and your events are really nice so maybe not this year but... ; )

Now I've started the new cossack project: Cherkeska - it will be bloody hard but there is no power on this world able to stop me from sewing one that will be at least good ; )

360cossack.webs.com

Here is my units website!

We are based in Northern Illinois.

We have a Staff car and a kubelwagen.

I love the Cossack stuff as well, we portray the 360. Kosaken Grenadier regiment. Although we do not bare the Ethnic Shields. We are Kuban cossacks, yet our unit commanders grandfather was one of the few cossacks to recieve a Iron Cross! He did not wear the Kuban shield on his uniform nor did his Regiment. Very Interesting!

Good that a Kosak unit has a website, Stateside! My unit probably won't do a website, as we have enough friends doing the impression. Better a few friends, than an argumentative squad LOL>

Great photo! We have grown since the sites initial creation. We went from a staggering 5 to 15! The interest has been spiking since our appearance at the largest reenactment the midwest offers. We also snagged us a 1937 dodge D5 staff car and ORIGINAL 1944 Kubelwagen!

Ill post some pictures around Early December after our display event!

Again great photo!
