Grazie Beate. Saw your other half, but was disappointed not to see you. Hopefully next year

I've posted pics on other sites, don't want to cram this forum with pics of us.

As a footnote,

If you look at 'Larusso', bottom right of the picture, you will notice he is wearing a grey-green leather pauldron. This has chain mail stitched to the top of it. This allowed Italian gunners to shoulder the Breda 37 and not burn them after firing. Although you can't see them, he also has the Grey-green leather and chain mail mitts they were issued to hold the barrel tucked in his belt.

Hi Supermario,

perhaps there was a misunderstanding;

I've appreciated the picture very much.

You are dressed very well; Compliments!

Thanks Neil for your explanation, learned something new there...I thought Larusso looked gladiator like, now I know why

I hope to see you and your group next year and to find out if you are as charming as the "real Italians" :D

Max, totally understood what you meant my friend. No offence taken. Was just saying we're never miserable pigs like you see some shots of Alpini in the 2gm.

Beate, we're just as charming, and we too have chianti flowing from our canteens. You will be very welcome to come and sit with us, enjoy the sunshine, eat, drink and pass the time away.

And to make it more authentic, we'll supply a Croce rossa uniform for you.

All the best to all

Neil

Saluti Alpini,

Along with my other mountain troop collections, I am working on my Alpini collection and impression.

Cheers Guys,

Patrick, interesting collection you got going there. Love the Mule pack board. Ebay by any chance? (If so, you out bid me! )

Also, the Giubba looks pretty damn fine too.

Do you mind if i just go over a couple of things with you though? Hope not.

Firstly, you only need one Ammo pouch on the mannequin. WW1 Alpini carried two, WW2 carried one. Also, if your able too, try to get a WW2 Alpini cap badge. They're a little smaller and just black in colour. To get that ulitmate Alpini look, try and pinch the cap in the centre. I also noticed that the Nappine is a little higher. has your cap lost the feather support?

Hope you don't mind me saying these things. Just want to help you look as authentic as possible. Its a great start though, and if you have any questions, just ask away.
