Interesting original smock
This smock is on sale on German ebay, and is being discussed on the WAF forum. It is a splinter smock printed on the grey/green material used for the step in smock. Known as a 'splinter on olive' amongst collectors. I am posting this as I have heard of these smocks but never seen one and this listing has some good photo's

Re: Interesting original smock
Wow, a very fine original piece! It is very interesting, especially that the Splinter B pattern is printed on the "Grünmelierte" cloth which was originally used for the green 2nd pattern jump smocks. Beautiful green-gray base-color, isn´t it
Re: Interesting original smock
Yes I've allways been confused with the term 'grey/green', but you can really see the greyness of that base material but still having that yellow fleck in it, I suppose its the yellow fleck that gives it the green tinge.
Re: Interesting original smock
Also note its a 1942 production, so way after the intoduction of splinter in '41, I suppose they are just using up stocks of the base grey/green material.

Yes, it really looks like this. For the first peas dot uniforms was also over printed tropical cloth used, before HBT was used for this uniform. I am curious what price will bring the Knochensack, should be min. 3000 Euro's.paulmfjr2 wrote:Also note its a 1942 production, so way after the intoduction of splinter in '41, I suppose they are just using up stocks of the base grey/green material.

Re: Interesting original smock
If anyone readin this thread is trying to bid on these items please look at the thread regarding these items on the WAF forum as there is a good chance that the seller of these items does not actually own them, and is ripping people off.
