You "reenact old hands" all probably know SOF do
the Para boot, first/second pattern, here's some pics

Supposedly =

the first run were very good - but Certain folks in the US (Built rather heavier than real soldiers) complained that the ankles were too thin.

this then resulted in all further production being made with fat Ankles - which look odd when worn.

hence no Descent 1st pattern on the market - when there so easily could be.

there is always something wrong: SOF boot is ok except the ankle and the ZM boot is ok except for the sole if you take size 42 and up

you can fita stick grenade down the boot, thats whats wrong, plus there about an inch to short

so anyway, anyone know what boots they are, the ones i just posted ?

The "nd pattern boots are SM! First pattern boots by SOF are SM wholesale! I have a pair and they look great, maybe because I am size 45, or 11! So beauty is the the eye of the beholder, so move on!

being an irishman, and america full of irish, maybe that was the problem. not that the americans couldnt get there fat ankles in, but it was the irish !,
