Hello,

Just an update really on the situation with FJ39-45, and to remind the Living History world we are still active.

Our group originally reformed from the UK based FJR2 about 3 or 4 years ago since then we have moved onwards and upwards and have decided to rather concentrate on "General FJ" impressions we would revert to our original impression of FJR2.

This works two fold in that we can concentrate on a single area as such and for private battle scenarios this aids Unit identification.

The new website is still under construction, here is the link http://www.fjr2.org.uk/

The group still has all the same old faces from FJ39-45 8)

We will be displaying at Stoneliegh 2011, come along and see us.

I will place a copy of my post in the "Re-Enactment Groups" forum.

Regards,

Mark.

You forgot one.
FJR1 in Colorado is the oldest Fj reenactment unit in the U.S. We were formed in Mar/Apr 1981.
I believe that FJR6 in England is the only Fj reenacting unit older than us in the hobby.

You may mean FJR2 good sir - Tom Gulliver's (the LEGENDARY Tom Gulliver) unit.

I believe there are many FJ units in UK, some of note and others small in number of varying designation. There was at one time an SS-FJ unit too....... it's hard to put a figure on it because it is so fluid. There are around 5-6 established units doing mainly FJR2,3,5 and 6 and the rest sort of float if that's the right word.

The difficulty is, you can't ever have a definitive list - I'd say - Groups established for 5 years or more (which most of those on the list are) would be a better definition.

Hi Paul

No - Dean is right in saying FJR6. Tom, Andy, Ron etc were FJR6 (pre-dating the Green Devils of Carentan - Darren & co).

FJR6 & co helped me out when I set out to portray FJR2 - found Paul Marsh doing the same and then merged to create a larger FJR2 - which Tom & Co head up now.

Still a bit nostalgic when I think back to my SS FJ days!

Cheers
