How does the Sturm shells compare to the others?

I must admit that I'm not prepared to shell out the cash for an FJ Werke shell, however nice they might be.

what is wrong with it ?

if there is a cheaper way to correct it, go with that option.

what shell is it ?

get a indian depeeka shell and a lyndon liner, its what alot of reenactors go for.

This is a depeeka shell

my head is 58 cm.. it feels a bit big ?

i have no clue who the manufacturer is.. no markings in shell.. bought it a year ago..

If the shell is ok as a start, i can use it, but the liner must change..

I have tried to read about "depeeka shells" and "lyndon liners" as it is something new to me,
but the links seem old / non working ?

Can you point me in the right direction ?

thats a depeeka shell feldman.

You just need to get a spear head/ barry lyndon liner and straps. .

i dont have a link, someone will tho , its a ebay store. If he has none on his store, just send him a message and he will put one on for you.

Isn't that the same shell Sturm sells?

I thought that the cut-out at the front was too pronounced and angled, compared to an original shell?

I think that perhaps this shell looks better?

feldman,

thats the one.

mikkel,

They are from the same manufacturers i believe. But are different runs,

I bought 2 depeeka shells once, one was angled like the above, the other was smooth like the link you have provided.

If you get one with a sharp angle, you just have to grind it slightly like i did with one of mine.

Great. Thanks :)

I'll take my chances with the Sturm one. I'll try and remember to take some pictures when I get it.
I assume it still have to have the liner replaced?
