Best book about Cassino from German point of view?
What is the best book about the battle for Cassino from German point of view ? ((I am especialy interested in the actions of Fallschirmjäger))
Hi,
I'm currently reading Rudolf Bohmler's "Monte Cassino" right now. It's a very good read, setting up the context for the three (or four) battles and while presenting all sides, he particularly provides good detail about the German side.
The author was present at the battle as Chef I/FJR3 and so provides some nice details about the 1 FJD's involvement (although not from an individuals perspective).
Bohmler, Rudolf. 1964. Monte Cassino. Cassell, London.
