Essenbehalter

Post by Timetripsinc »

Dear Gents,

I just got hold of one through ebay.de. On the up side it's all aluminium, LW blue gray in colour, has the insert (completely stuck) and the webbing straps are present. On the down side it's taken a beating over time, the insert is stuck and I'm unsure if it's the real Mc.Coy.
Clues are welcome!

Grüsse,

Hot-food tin isn't it? Like a Thermos but pot-shaped?

Rucksack style hot food carrier, thermos type - generally used to transport dinner up to the frontline - considered an iffy job as artillery spotters/snipers took great joy in capping them off as no dinner is a real morale downer.

Post some pics of it.

What, none of the buffs have anything sensible to say about this thing?

Any other reference sources available?

38 Euros is a good price as they go for a lot more than that at Beltring for example... looks the genuine article to me but can't pretend to be an expert on cookpots :D
