Helmet covers

Post by daveydachs »

Hello chaps,
Can anyone tell me if Barry Lyndon's new "2nd edition" helmet covers are any good (not the drawstring "type 2" ones he is also doing)? I am looking for a good plain green one. I bought one of his old models and it is shocking. Someone once told me there should only be one seam in the material that wraps round the circumference of the helmet and it should have darts to bring it into shape at the top. Is this correct? Does anyone know where I can find a good plain green helmet cover? It's for a 66-68 shell. Any useful help would be greatly appreciated. Ta!

Save your money, even after pointing out to him that they are wrongly made, Barry is still making them with 4 panels and top.

Can't help on where to get a good green cover but I'm sure someone will know.

Paul, if you can get the material, I know a man who'll make 'em. Pattern will be correct and all.
