Late war diorama

Post by dog green 1 »

Been working on this for a while now. Meant to depict a late war scene. Using Dragon figures and a scene from Great North Roads. Hoping to get a little more done this week.

Like it so far! I think reenactors have a slight edge over regular modellers when it comes to getting things like colours and equipment wear and tear looking 'right'. The mess tins for example are spot-on!

Looking forward to seeing this one finished!

I agree, also kit combinations tend to be more realistic...seen too many modelers have their German figs walking with a rifle in hand but carrying MP-40 pouches, or making all the tunics M36s etc.

Lovely! And agree to that! Since I've started with reenactment I needed to change all of my previously made German soldiers. Equipment positioned as the Dragon Models wanted me to put it. All farby ^^

Excellent work! I wish i could paint figures like you do. When i finally got together my full size german kit i was totally puzzled. All i knew was how to glue them on. My field gear positioning has improved a lot since then.

Cheers guys. Its amazing how wearing and owning the kit can make your models come on leaps and bounds. Working on a couple of 1'16 scale figures too which I will post pics up of.

I a bit curious about what colors you use? I as well build a lot dioramas in 1/35 scale and I use citadel colors. Sometimes hard to get the wool uniforms just right.
