Re: Academy Tiger
I'm currently attempting one of these, I can attest they offer great value for money at about £17-£25 on ebay.
Edit! Actually, here's one! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ACADEMY-TIGER-TAN ... .m14.l1318

Re: Academy Tiger
Very nice indeed, but is that a deliberate mistake with the numbers on the side?

No, they are right according to my reference anyway (Tiger 1 on the western front by Jean Restayn)
Re: Academy Tiger
Interesting Rudy, is there a reason behind this practice?

Re: Academy Tiger
What exactly do you mean? All german AFVs had the three number vehicle code to indicate the company, platoon, and vehicle numbers, so 423 would be 3rd vehicle, 2nd platoon, 4th company. The only difference I can see with the Tiger above is the size of the numbers, but this was not unusual in North Africa, presumably due to the tanks moving over flat ground at increased distances. The Tigers used in europe do not seem to have used the same size figures, but many variations were found in layout, size and position of the numbers.Sean wrote:Interesting Rudy, is there a reason behind this practice?
