Post by POA1944 »

Here is a ultra rare M45 German Stahlhelm I found and figured I'd share it with you all.

It is located on (Germanmilitaria.com) For sale.

Isn't that a Mod 44 - no vent holes?
I thought the 45 was what is known today as the east German helmet. These had been approved and were being made at the end of the war. No evidence that any were ever issued. The ruskies found a large quanity of them in ware houses at the end of the war. They had the standard WW 2 liner in them. These were later given to the NVA by the ruskies. Later NVA production had a modified/simlified liner in them.
