Original field sterilizer for medical equipment arrived.

Post by RZM »

This one appears to have not been used..leather grommet in the lid to prevent the alcohol from leaking. The wick just sets on top loose. These were a portable sterilizer for sterilizing medical instruments on the front lines where an aid station may not be available and you've got many wounded. Great little item. Got it for $50Image

This was described as a portable sterilized for med equip. Was this just used for needles,or would sanitators carry these and use them for other items as well? I only had it's sale description to go on and I'm aiming for accuracy..if this wouldn't be in a sanitators pouches(or uncommon,) I may nix it from my kit..

I don't think it would be carried into the fighting zone as I doubt they had time to sterilize each needle with bullets flying around, I would say it's something for behind the lines or in the trenches during the lull in combat.

Probably not a common thing because for what it does, a candle, a lighter, oil lamp, juwel, vehicle heater etc would do the same job....

If I really wanted to sterilize something in the field quickly I would either pull out my lighter or some alcohol...
