went to see gerry with graham at the weekend

thanks graham ...for taking me

gerry seems happy at the mo
verry confused but this is normal for a man who has survived a verry horrid stroke
after a few minutes of not recognising me he perked up and smiled .....and said "i know you"
this almost brought tears to my eyes
as indeed he still remembers things.

rita is dong a great job as wife and carer.
gerry is in great hands
hes put on a bit if weight ..but that isnt a bad thing..

in all it was good to see he is happy where he is ..and he has family and friends to see he is not wanting for nothing.

if ya know him ..send him a card wishing him well
but ...contact rita first to see if ok to visit
im sure graham will agrree with that..

This coming Sunday Gehard will be 90, never though he would get to this age especially as he has been house bound since 2006,
Those of you who know him from past re enactment units like FJR6 (Andy Clark) and FJR2 it would be time to send a birthday card (with a photo of yourself in uniform). I will be going to see him this Sunday, anyone else want to make the trip to Hathern (Leicester)?

it is with great sadness that Gerry passed away last Sunday, he was 91. He was a great friend and showed me how to re enact German properly, which I have on numerous occasions thanked him. I last saw Gerry about 6 weeks age and I realised that he was on the way out. Luckily he was at home and not stuck in a care home or hospital.
