Easilythe best Duncannon to date!
Well done all. And a most enjoyable WW2 battle. following an advance to contact recce forward by a three bike aufklarung element to locate the allied airborne drops, BGS, Fallschirmjaeger and the 222 of AK Meyer blitzkrieged their way forward in a combined arms attack, steamrolling up a US/British airborne element who were holding a forward position ahead of the allied seaborne landings. things looked grim for the liberation of Normandy as the jubilant troopers of the LAH mopped up the last remnants of the lightly armed paras, until the roar of engines and the shouts of alarm heralded the arrival from the beach head of a mounted element of british forces in bren carrier/jeeps. Close combat followed but the weight of allied numbers forced the hard pressed Germans off the field.
The months of squad and platoon training for members in weapons safety, mortar drill, gas fire gun operation and co operation training with armour paid off. Good to work with like minded well trained groups in a professional manner, saves on stress and worry when the pyros start going off and the the armour gets going.
Again well done all.
