Dead Man's Corner - Normandy

Post by carentan »

If you're in Normandy between 2-6 June drop by Dead Man's Corner, Between Carentan and St. Mere Eglise, there will be 50-60 Fallschirmjager doing a living history display in the fields. For those who don't know, it was an HQ and field dressing post for FJR6 and 101st during D-Day.

We'll be there.

Hi MANNY. LHA 82nd guys are going out again staying at Chateau Bellanau which is across the road and down the small lane to the left, it was German HQ in 1944,A couple from a stick of 101st troopers actualy landed across the roof, broke into the loft area and fought their way thru the building doing the business!, company CO landed out in the rough grass just outside the main gated entrance and decided to lay doggo from the amount of lead flying about! LHA guys are going as 502nd 101st. so I reckon if you guys get organised you might just get some decent piccies?,The Chateau is superb and has a BAR!!!! anyone got a pac 37??. Pete
