range finding on 6x30 dienstglas

Post by LHistorian »

Guten tag kameraden!

Just purchased my very first pair of German ww2 6x30 dienstglas binoculars! Will be posting some fotos of them soon :D Had a question on using them though, searched the internet for the formula to use the ranging reticle that is super-impossed in the right Lens, but so far no such luck. Any ideas gentlemen? Vielen dank in advance!

Much thanks jooooonas! found the full film this morning. So I divide 1.70 m (average mans height for then I presume) by how many hash marks, in this case .5, and than multiply by 1000?

formula: 1.70 / 0.5 x 1000

Sounds reasonable :)

Appreciate your help mien herr!
