Black & white non-photo image of an Infantry Assault Badge?

Post by leicanthrope »

I'm trying to track down a nice black and white image of an Infantry Assault Badge to use on some repro paperwork I'm working on. Does anyone have a decent image of a period rendering of one (not a photograph), perhaps from a postcard or something along those lines?

What you could do with this is, save it, then open it up with microsoft paint, reverse the colour, print it out and trace it onto a new sheet of paper.
It's worth a try if nothing else.

Always try to trace over a lightbox if you can, you get a better idea of what to leave out, like the pin  :D
Not a criticism, only a guide, also if there's double lines which are the shadows of the metal badge, stick to the top thicker one.

So you think I've actually done something by hand?
No sir, I just filtered the hell out of the photograph.

 No, I just thought you'd done the microsoft paint thing I mentioned, It's what I got but I've traced it and it comes out quite good.

Here is one I did some years ago for a web project
I have others fit for use on award certificates if needed.

Reduce it down and add a bit more detail like feet for the eagle etc.
The same file reduced right down looks like this

OK?

Bit off topic but here's the image I drew them for. We had an idea to be able to add awards to a grenadier's tunic on the web site as he gained them.... Like an interactive thing.....
