M40 Helmet repair

Post by rsvpiper »

I've picked up a nice original M40 with original if a little damaged liner(no leather or chin strap) however the rear of the helmets skirt has a 2" split/crack, I've thought about just referbing the lid and leaving the spilt as it will be hidden by the helmet cover But if or how could it be repaired?

if it has original paint.I wouldn't restore it.You would be destroying a original piece.
