How to fake a fallschirmjager helmet!

Post by Sheikh Al Stranghi »

http://www.fallschirmjager.biz/info_helmets_001.htm

A great guide to creating a nice piece for reenactment - don't overdo it though as you don't want to wear something that looks like a 60 year old relic!

These techniques can of course also be used for regular helmets.

A good source for decals: http://www.military-steel-helmets-and-d ... decals.htm

His dry transfer decals are very good.

Neat site, but after you see how they fake it. Look at the rest of the site. They got alot of so-called real helmets. I dont know about you, but I would never buy from them. haha

Kamerad,

I am pretty sure.
The ''dry'' ones you are talking about are much ticker, the water tarnsfers(are thinner) from same manufacturer
don't have much glue.

I agree - decalhelmet.com is probably the best available but at a price! so it all really depends on what you want for your budget I guess! He also supplies the 'dry' ones and yes they do work and you can use the glue as a laquer as they did for many decals, helps preserve them! You can also bake them and this really helps to imbed them onto the helmet!!!

p.s. the genuine helmets are genuine, they have just been repainted and fitted out with repro liners - its all pretty clear on the adverts! :P
