The Reichsarbeitsdienst weiblicher Jugend RADwJ contained a year´s duty for young women,
whether in farming, as a "home help" or looking after children in families.

In 1937 the position of "Führerin" in the RADwJ became a registered profession.
Female lawyers or judges for example would take this opportunity of a career
as Führerin in the RADwJ, as they were not allowed to work in their trained profession
from 1936 onwards, or were simply "pushed out" by their male colleagues.

Here a little song sung by the RADwJ in Bad Frankenhausen

Quote:
Weiße Strümpfe, rotes Kopftuch und ein blau kariertes Kleid,
20 Pfennig in der Tasche, das ist eine Arbeitsmaid

Translation:

Quote:
White socks, a red head scarf and a blue checkered dress,
20 Pfennigs in the pocket, that is a working wench
