What we're after, which Jeppsson didn't mention, is more of a postwar replica/CJ750/Ural, what sort of prices do these go for at the lowest?

Can i say, please think about saving and getting a real, if smaller bike?

I wanted a combination for years, but could'nt afford to get one straight off, so i saved for a while and kept my enthusiasm going by drooling over the Zundapps of Glen and Dachs etc. I came very close a couple of times to getting a repro bike, but each time I just kept telling myself that whatever you do to a repro it will always be a copy. I have never liked saying at shows "its just like a wartime one" about anything and that was true in the 80's when I had my 42Willy's jeep and it is true now.

Eventually I was able to get a 1938 DKW NZ350-1 ok it was a bitsa, but it was the right bits!! No sidecar of course but I rode it at beltring, detling etc with a massive grin knowing that it was "real" I looked at pictures of DKW's on both the east and west fronts wondering if any of them might have been my bike?

In the SBG there is a Wanderer 2stroke, An NSU 2 stroke, they are both prewar and fascinating bikes both!

When the time came I sold the DKW without any effort at all, and was able to get the Zundapp KS600 combination I now have, of course it is not perfect and parts (bits of the sidecar)of it have a rather pronounced russian accent! But the important bit the bike is 100percent 1938Zundapp.
It broke down at Waltham abbey, but do you know what, I was still able to sit on it in the sunshine talking bikes to the public (who are usually very interested in motorcycles) and still have the satisfaction of being able to say "and this is a real one"
I suppose I am more of a vehicle person than anything else, and am fascinated by the engineering of all the oldies!

But of course this is nothing like an r75!

The best you can be is an R71, very rare in the 40's but the common copy today! the plunger rear suspension of the 40's just could not cope with what the military did to them!
The R75 is of course much larger in physical size!

That combi came from RAU, to me, to Beck, to you (via Jimmy?). If I remember aright it was an SM one, definitely pre-Chinese....
