Very nice, I don't have on yet however its definatly on my "to get"list, a question though, was there any difference in body style between a european made Ford and a US made Ford ? if so what were the differences ?, Its a question nobody in my unit has been able to answer, Dieter

Well basiclly German made Ford Truck do not have a split front window, Dutch, French, Finish Fords where assembled from U.S. Ford parts so those trucks have split front windows. The beds on the truck are useally for farm use and were converted to military use for the war. As some minor body style like the door molding, but with mechcanic switching parts to get truck rolling near the end of the war it was mix and match. That's it in a nut shell

The Story for my Truck is it is a captured Dutch truck put into Luftwaffe Service, later in 1944 FJR6 gets it when they are reforming in France.
There are simaler notes on this in FJ and LW diaries.
I'll post more pic's later

Cheers

Train spotter time.

the later ford trucks also had 8 wheel nuts instead of the early ones with 6, which was as a result of civilian complaints about the 6 nut version not being hard wearing enough.

I need a drink after that
