Not much room to move and a shit when you drop a spanner
view after battery box and fuel tanks removed
rear decks removed you can see cooling pipe work and exhuast pipes
every thing removed lift starts
and then it it was gone can any one guess what the pipe work is that is left on the floor ?

Re: Stug Engine lift
Pipes from an electrical/paraffin(?) preheater? To warm the coolant for easier starting?

.
Surprised by how small the engine/plant is when seen ready for removal. Looks a very easy piece to work on though. Please keep us posted with it's overhaul/service progress.

Re: Stug Engine lift
David your spot on we have information on two types one like you said the other is a transfer system ie they get one engine running to the correct engine temp then the warm coolant is transfered to a cold engine .
Nelz I will be back next weekend and will take some snaps

Re: Stug Engine lift
Well for those that have some interest in this topic more work was done on the Maybach this weekend . Parks have been removed and are being refurbished replaced with NOS (New old stock)
Yep thats right NOS there is a Huge store near Tampere that has some items
Removed engine with oil being drained out not starter with starting shaft running to the rear oil cooler has been removed .you can see the two fuel pumps and covers to the 3 oil pumps
Exhaust manifolds removed
Starter and shaft this shaft links to the starter crank at the rear of the Stug ,starting by the shaft is the correct way of starting the stug . You can see the oil tank at the top of the picture the red cap for the tank also holds the dip stick
Twin Solex carbs and Magneto made by Bosch
carb model
Oil pump covers and fuel pumps removed
