I've read the threads regarding the issue of high boots and low boots and understand that most people discarded the high boots as they were uncomfortable. My question is this:

What trousers were worn with the high boots? I have seen pics of officers wearing them with tropical breeches and also them being worn with shorts. Can they be worn with regular issue DAK trousers?

Not only officers wear them with breeches. Lower rank soldiers too:







As for me and according to photos Ive seen they was wear with breeches or shorts only. Never seen any with straight tropical pants - not that they not exist somewhere, but just havent seen any.
